Robin King
Robin, our Patient Experience Coordinator, is a Durham native and graduated from the UNC Dental Assisting Program as a Certified Dental Assistant. She has worked in dentistry for over 40 years in general and orthodontic practices. She has been married to Rod for 38 years and they have a daughter, Caitlin, and son-in-law Bradley. Her favorite pastime is being “Bobbie” to her 3 beautiful grandchildren and lively Jack Russell pups. Robin is active in the Women's and Outdoor Ministries at her church and enjoys pulling for the NC State Wolfpack. She loves meeting our patients, creating our social media content, and is ready to help you with your scheduling, financial, and insurance needs.
Kim Apple
Kim is a native of Orange County. She graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Alamance Community College in 1993 and has over 32 years of experience in all areas of dentistry. Kim has been married to Dennis for 32 years and they have two adult children with whom they enjoy spending time. She loves visiting their place in Morehead City where they play on the water island hopping and fishing. She also enjoys gardening and spoiling their furbabies! Kim is Dr. Barnes' assistant and they work together to provide quality care for our patients. She hasn't met a stranger and has the gift of making patients feel comfortable and at ease when they visit!
Tessa Cook
Tessa is a born and bred Durham native. She graduated from UNC in 1992 and has over 35 years of experience in dental hygiene. Tessa has two adult children, Elijah and Taylor. She loves to travel and enjoys spending time in the mountains and at the beach. Three pups keep her busy but she squeaks out time to garden and golf! Tessa’s gentle and calm chairside manner makes her a favorite among out patients for the last 25 years.
Rylee
Being a Shetland sheepdog, at work Rylee loves to help escort patients to their rooms and back, as well as offering comfort in the form of receiving pets. In her free time Rylee loves to chase and be chased by her 2 footed sister, herding the neighborhood bikes and generally being outside. Rylee knows some people have allergies or just aren't dog people and while sad she wants everyone to have a great time here so she's asked to please let the front know if she needs to stay back while you're here.
Dr. Barnes
Dr. Barnes is a North Carolina Native, after growing up in Raleigh he attended UNC- Wilmington for his undergraduate studies, then attended UNC Chapel Hill for dental school. After graduating Dr. Barnes worked across NC, but calls Chatham county home now, after living in Durham for the past 10 years. Dr. Barnes is passionate about providing a comfortable, family feeling atmosphere and looks forward to taking care of you. In his free time Dr. Barnes enjoys reading, fishing, legos, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and fur baby.
